Chicago's Place Association: Helping Chicago's Children Lead Their Best Lives Possible

Children's Place Association transforms the lives of Chicago-area children in the very worst circumstances—those confronting illness and extreme poverty. Programs provide nursing and specialized care to Chicago’s most vulnerable children, ensuring they and their families have access to care, therapies and services that help them maintain and improve health and well-being.

Thanks to Astellas USA Foundation, Children’s Place is thrilled to provide 25-50 Chicago-area children in need with specialized nursing and therapeutic care at its Children's Place Residential Center in order to stabilize and improve their health. This Residential Center was the Midwest's first facility providing 24-hour nursing for children with HIV/AIDS-related conditions. Today, it provides nursing and therapeutic care to children with many kinds of medical issues or disabilities.

Children's Place helps children and families manage the complexities of a wide range of health issues compounded by poverty. The vast majority (67 percent) of the children and their families live in extreme poverty; more than half subsist on annual incomes of $5,000.
