Our son, Aldo, was presumably healthy as any child. One day, my wife was giving him breakfast when suddenly, by a ray of sunshine that illuminated Aldo’s face, she noticed that Aldo had something different in his eye, which suddenly disappeared. A week passed and, again at breakfast, she noticed the same abnormality in Aldo’s eye.
We took Aldo to an ophthalmologist, but it was not clear to the doctor. We continued to investigate and take Aldo to other specialists until the hypothesis was proven true. Aldo was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma when he was barely five years old.Aldo has received medical treatment at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles in California, and now sees a doctor at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer in New York, New York.
