We are a nonprofit corporate foundation that awards grants to support charitable organizations for scientific, literary and educational purposes. This includes a focus on supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all, to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Since our inception in 2005, we have contributed more than $20 Million to charities to help sustain and enrich the communities where we live and work.
We operate under a well-organized governance structure and follow a specific process for the review of grant application requests to help us deliver programs that will have a lasting impact.
With hurricane season underway and the prevalence of tragic, natural disasters in recent years, effective August 31, 2018, Astellas USA Foundation will only be accepting disaster relief grant requests for the remainder of 2018. We will no longer be accepting grant requests for Health & Well-being or ScienceWoRx (STEM) or any other area besides disaster relief. To learn about our giving and partnerships, search the disaster response section of our website for more information.
We aim to make a difference in specific areas to maximize our contribution to society. Currently, our areas of focus are Health and Well-Being ; STEM Education; and Disaster Response.

To make the most effective contribution to society, we have implemented a structure and process to enhance clarity of purpose, efficiency and effectiveness. We are governed by a board of directors who are supported in day-to-day operations by corporate officers, an advisory council and legal representation.
The Astellas USA Foundation review team meets at least quarterly to consider and award grants. This year, we are reviewing grants that support the health and well-being of society, STEM education and disaster response.
